There was only an initial clamour when Zero brought the little boy in to work -- he had siblings with children, after all, and so had Hizumi, Tsukasa and Karyu. Karyu, especially, had a certain skill in dealing with three year-olds since his nephew was the exact same age, and the boy took to him especially well.

The first time Ryo sees Kame is on the beat up TV in his shared apartment. The broken stumps of Kame's wings, cauterized and sterile like the clean white arena of the talkshow that surrounds them.
